there's always something going on at GILT
Grand Island Little Theatre encourages anyone with an interest in performing to audition for our productions. GILT has an open door casting policy, meaning you do not need previous experience with us to be cast. In fact, we often cast performers the first time they audition, and then they become hooked!
GILT Jr (a part of Grand Island Little Theatre) hosts a week long event in the summer for children who have completed 3rd - 8th grade. Throughout the week children prepare to perform a play while they also attended classes and workshops teaching them about other aspects of theatre, such as theatrical makeup, audition preparation, character creation and more. All GILT Jr staff are certified teachers, para educators, or former teachers from Grand Island and surrounding areas. The assembled team represent more than 83 years of working with children and 95 years of theatre experience. The workshop is held at Grand Island Little Theatre's home at College Park from Monday through Friday, with two performances on Saturday. These performances are open to the public for a small admission price.
Students were asked to sign up in advance for the workshop, so supplies could be on hand. Cost per student is determined annually, which includes a t-shirt and supplies. Admission to the workshop program is limited to the first 60 applicants.

annual golf scramble
Each August, Grand Island Little Theatre hosts a golf scramble to raise money for the Catherine Fosket Scholarship Fund. The Catherine Fosket Scholarship is unique scholarship that goes to a high school senior or current college student who has been involved with GILT in the past and has a strong appreciation for the arts.
In addition to a worthy cause, there are fantastic flag and raffle prizes along with a provided lunch. While there may be more bogeys than birdies, it's a great way hit the links and support GILT.

The GILTYs are a summer awards celebration when we publicly recognize those who have participated in our season productions. We know it takes many, many hours on the part of our volunteers to produce quality performances so it seems only fitting that we commend them for their efforts.
