It is with great sadness, that Grand Island Little Theatre announces that GILT Jr. children’s theatre camp will not be offered this summer, 2018. For 3 years, GILT Jr. has provided a high-quality theatre education for children taught by certified teachers & employees of local school districts. We want all children who attend GILT Jr. to be safe, well-supervised, and engaged in fun, meaningful activities. Due to the limited number of teachers available this summer, we would be unable to meet these goals. We attempted to add new staff, so we recruited over 20 teachers and even reached out to local colleges; unfortunately, not enough people were available this summer. We considered offering a limited camp, but we couldn't provide all the needed supervision and classes to maintain our high standards.
We know that many of our students and families will be very disappointed to hear this news, and it was not an easy decision to make. We are very sorry to disappoint the children we have come to love over the years. However, we believe that this is the right decision for children. Many of our long-time staff, as well as a group of new teachers, will rejoin us in the summer of 2019 to bring back GILT Jr. stronger than ever.
We hope to see you in 2019.
Registration will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
